When Bob asked me to be the sports editor, the first thing I thought was 'what the hell am I going to post?' Within a day, this falls on my lap via Jess Sloss.  In the last week, it's starting to hit me that the Olympics are just a year away, but we shouldn't forget it's the Paralympics too!

This clip got me amped....all I could think was....'man...that looks more fun than snowboarding....'.  I'm starting to feel bad about my last session w. Gerry Belmont where within 2 hours of arriving at the mountain we were back in the city eating pancakes....

The Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports Society is a non profit organization which runs programs for persons with disabilities at the local hills.  The idea is that everyone should be able to enjoy skiing and snowboarding.

On Feb. 26, 2009 they are hosting the VASS Challenge Cup at Grouse Mountain.  They got something for everyone there from racing an adaptive athlete to a demonstration of sledge hockey.  As each team is made up of non adaptive racers too everyone's free to join if you sign up in time.  For more info check Grouse's site.
