Tomorrow, thousands will converge upon the friendly neighbourhood of Point Grey for Chip's Not Dead Yet, a part-race, part-party benefiting the BC Children's Hospital.... and SO SHOULD YOU.

Consider joining the masses as they canter up one mile of West 10th Avenue, from Alma to Sasamat, dressed in costume. Theme waves include the High Heel Dash, the Pooch Parade (run with your mutt), the Bridal Dash (bring out that hideous eggplant bridesmaid dress), the Underwear Dash and more.

Participants could win prizes including:

  • 2 tickets to anywhere WestJet flies (the Bahamas, yo!)
  • a Back Yard BBQ from Russell Beer and Memphis Blues
  • $1500 shopping spree at Pacific Center
  • Aerosmith tickets!

Cross the finish line to the beer garden, children's entertainment, and a free concert featuring Daniel Wesley, hometown heroes Run GMC, A Current Swell, and Armchair Cynics. (Or don't even cross the finish line... just show up. Entry is by donation.)

A note of interest: the elite wave boasts the world's largest purse for a one-mile race. First place? $20,000. Second? The upsetting realization that the person in front of them just won it all.

Mostly importantly, 200% of proceeds go to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation. Event founder Chip Wilson, of Westbeach and Lululemon fame, has generously pledged to match registrations up to $150k.)
