A Breath of Fresh Air

More than 2000 people gathered outside at David Lam Park in Yaletown last night to catch a twilight screening of '80s classic, "Ghostbusters." Moviegoers arrived with blankets and picnic baskets to enjoy a perfect evening in the park - situated with our gorgeous Vancouver skyline on one side and False Creek on the other.  Once the sun started to set, crowd chatter, laughter and singalongs gave way to Slimer & company.  By all accounts, a fun time was had by all!

If you enjoyed the screening last night (or missed out) and would like to attend a similar event in the future, good news - you don't have long to wait!  The West End BIA presents "The Princess Bride" at dusk tomorrow, July 21st, 2009 at Ceperly Meadows in Stanley Park.  Future screenings at various local parks include "Mamma Mia," "Peter Pan," "Rebel Without a Cause," "Dirty Dancing" and "Pirates of the Carribean."

FreshAirCinema, the company that provides the technology & equipment necessary for these outdoor screenings, has a list of all upcoming film events on their Facebook page.  Vancouver-area screenings will also be added to our Events Calendar on a continual basis.  Get out there and enjoy an alfresco movie experience!
