Late last week, I accompanied my pal Russe (or Toblerusse) to Spanish Banks to find a big rock, made unique by time and the ebb and flow of waves and weather, for his new art project.
Our search took us the furthest point west, just before that hill slopes up toward UBC, where I found a bright, mini garden planted in the groove of a tree stump.
From the looks of it, this might be a memorial of some sort, with people having left rocks with messages scrawled in black marker.
It's a beautiful little garden.
