Maybe you remember my garden I planted and shared with you earlier this year? And the subsequent update on said garden? I'll be doing a wrapup post in the next while but in the meantime...
There was this big... thing... that I thought might be dill growing in my garden all on it's own. I didn't plant it, it just showed up on it's own. I left it there because it didn't look entirely offensive and I figured I might get some dill or some star anise or something random out of it at the end of the season. But as it turns out it's actually something I really like: it's fennel! I'm in the process of drying out these fennel seeds and will, from this day on, have a bowl of them sitting by the door for guests to enjoy after meals.
I've seen these in almost every community garden in the city and will definitely be growing more next year. Cool!
