Sunny fall morning escapes

I think Fall gets a bad rap because it follows summer and is before winter... Not a good placing. Spring gets a mulligan because it follows the nastiness of winter and is before the best time... but Fall, it seems destined to lose.

On it's own, the beginning of Fall is legendary. Sometimes with sunny crisp mornings, quiet skies... a good time for thinking and one of my favorite things, walking through the woods.

One of my favorite places to go in the Fall is Alice Lake. Located on that new awesome highway five minutes past Squamish, it's a great place to head up to on a day like today.

In the summer, Alice Lake is a hive of activity, with camping and lots of day trippers. In the fall, it is a quiet place to go and bask in nature only 45 minutes from Vancouver.

The beach is a great place to have a quiet picnic and lounge in the sun.

The water is cold and beautiful, a great place to swim to the docks then lie like seals in the warm sun.

Walking around the lake is a great stroll, and is crazy beautiful. We found this little homemade dock... people who make docks on fallen trees are pretty neat! Oh yeah... did I mention that there's fishing? Yes... there is fishing!

Here's a map to get you there, just in time to experience all the greatness that our neck of the woods has to show off!
