A little while back I put a call out for you to send in photos of your awesome old cars that you're rolling around Vancouver's streets. Rob Rickaby answered the call with this fantastic Beetle and a few words about it...
"She's a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle, Originally from Seattle. I bought it off a guy in Chiliwack about 2 years ago, daily drove it for a year (yes, even in winter!), and have been working on a complete restoration since last October. Now Im going to be starting to put her back together and will hopefully be done while the weather is still nice!"
"I've never really went on any far trips in it, it burned oil, and It didnt like driving with more than one person in the car. One time me and two friends were heading to the Bonsor skatepark, and on the way there you have to go up that huge, steep hill by deer lake park (not sure the street) and i knew it was going to be tough, so i drove as fast as i could on the flat section before the hill, and cruised up it, the engine started burning oil like crazy and soon the inside of the car was full of thick white smoke, we rolled the windows down and a person in a car passed me and let me know that my car was smoking (no duh!) so we got off the hill on the first street we could, pulled over and opened up the decklid and more smoke poured out! We let it cool down a bit and we were on our way. Sketchy times."
