On Oct 22nd, Vancouver got a little use out of the NBA court that was originally foot-pounded by the Grizzlies before they moved to Memphis in '01. Here, Steve Nash bounce-passes to Jason Richardson as he cuts to the teal key.
Last night, the NBA made an appearance in Vancouver to a sold-out crowd of 19,700 at GM Place. BC's son Steve Nash and his Phoenix Suns played a pre-season "home game" against the Portland Trailblazers. Nash, a 2-time NBA MVP and 6-time All-Star, put on a ball distribution and jump shot clinic in the Suns' 111-93 loss. Towards the end of the tilt, Nash threw his Nikes into the roaring capacity crowd after scoring 14 points and 7 helpers in 23 minutes on the floor.
Amar'e Stoudemire sets the screen, which gives Nash the green light to drive. The stain at centre court once housed the good 'ol Vancouver Grizzlies logo. Also noteworthy, the Canucks primarily occupied the entire first row of court seats shown here.
