PEAK PERFORMANCE PROJECT - WASSABI COLLECTIVE

The PEAK Performance Project is a seven-year, 5.29 million dollar contest open to all musicians in British Columbia. The project was created by Vancouver's very own 100.5 The PEAK and Music BC to develop BC based emerging artists.

Every year, twenty finalists from BC will receive an intensive, one week training program in the music business, live performance, songwriting, marketing and promotion. From these, the top three will be crowned as the PEAK Performers of the year and will share $275,000 in cash for career development!

Who's your favorite artist(s) in the Peak Performance Project and why?

'We Are the City' stood out to us because they are refreshing, talented, super cute and any keyboard player who breaks a key on stage is pretty cool. Also Bend Sinister because they can rock out!

What was the most valuable thing you took away from Boot Camp?

All the knowledge about the current state of the music business, how to market ourselves on the different mediums, as well as the confidence to keep reaching for our goals. We made so many great connections with faculty and other bands, it's a great community of new friends..oh and a cheque for $3500!

What is one thing you wish you brought to Boot Camp, but didn’t?

Camera, Acoustic guitar, Laptop, Flashlight, Booze? Did I say that? no, I think the editor added that in.

What’s your favorite venue to play at in BC?

Outdoor Shows in Whistler Village are always a fun time! Festivals too.

Where is your favorite hangout in Vancouver?

Sushi Yama on Broadway, YUM! The Armoury studio...that place is sweet! The Commodore, Granville Island & the Beaches, oh and Long and McQuade gets some hangout time.

If you win the grand prize, what are you going to put the money towards?

World Domination!! Recording and Full on Marketing/Touring of our new Album, becoming huge superstars. booyaa...
