THE DRY SPOT!

With the exception of Leesid e and various parking garages around the city, Vancouver doesn't have anything to skate which is indoors.

With the exception of Leeside and various parking garages around the city, Vancouver doesn't have anything to skate which is indoors.  This year, OG Vancouver streetdog,  Ben Chibber is bailing us out by expanding his Monke empire to now include an indoor skatepark.

I hit up The Dry Spot last week and I'm loving it.  Granite ledge, the perfect bench, and best of all...the three foot mini, this place was made for me.  I think my best moments ever on a skateboard happened on a three foot mini.

It's not a huge space so they cap the sessions at fifteen people, make sure you call first and book!

That's Chachi....my new skate buddy.  I'm sure it wasn't by design, but the Dry spot almost serves as a social experiment.  Vancouver's skate scene at times is accused of being really cliquey and impersonal.  But with the Dry Spot's limited space and number of people in a session,  there is no room for attitude here.   You can't really get away with looking sideways at a guy because he'll be standing next to you before you know it.  If an indoor could ever be described as initmate, this is it.  The Dry Spot is a great edition to the Vancouver skateboard community, thanks Chibbs!

So...when are we doing a VIA night?!!?
