If you tend to look upwards when you hear a nose overhead it shouldn't be surprising that there is an airplane passing over at 3000 feet or below. Our airports are the busiest in Canada, and the approach paths are often (depending on the wind) right down the centre of our city. Having grown up on the West Coast, and having spent my childhood fishing at random beautiful fishing towns, I had the experience of flying as a passenger throughout my childhood. It eventually transferred into getting a pilots license and working commercially myself.

I have to say out of all the trips and places I have been to, the Vancouver area is my favorite place to fly. You really cannot beat or even grasp the beauty of our city from the air. Sunrises, sunsets, the contrast of the ocean, greens, city, and mountains. I have seen it thousands of times but and am always floored by the colours. If you have never done it before I recommend hopping onto one of the great local float operators and doing a city tour or even better yet, head to Victoria or Whistler or both.
