Today's image is by Billy Jaye and it's entitled "Del Tha Funkee Homosapien @ Fortune Sound Club, Vancouver, BC"!

We co-sponsored this show and Billy was obviously stoked on seeing Del live. Below is his full caption/story. Did you go to the show?

"To say that I was stoked for last night's show would be a bit of an understatement. I had tickets to go see Del the last time that he was on your, in Edmonton, but had to give them up because my Grandma's 75th birthday celebration was the same day and in the next province over.

When my connection to the steezy cartel, Michael Q. Apps, texted me to ask if I wanted to check out Del in Van, I wasted no time in agreeing and purchasing tickets. Unfortunately, Mika was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict, but happily enough Mr. Woollard, the Infamous, said that he too was keen to attend. So we three kings went off into the night in search of awesomeness. Hilariously enough we ran into T.Mo and her two escorts, Amber and Emma (? I think those were their names), and increased our posse size to 6.

Rumour has it that this venue has one of the best sound systems in North America, a Funktion One setup, with the design of the club made to work in conjunction with the stereo system. Since almost all the shows I went to in Edmonton had very sub-par sound systems, I was expecting this to be a whole new level of treats.

And I have to admit - I was impressed. It was loud, but not painful, and crisp across the whole spectrum of wavelengths. The place was packed, the crowd was amped, and everyone put on a wicked show. The only downer was while Del's manager and the opener, Bukue, was wrapping up his set, some dicks started chanting for Del instead of letting him finish. But other than that - all awesome, all the time.

After all our dancing and fisticuffing, Woollard headed East to home, and Michael and I wandered West to grab some late night treats and then catch our buses home. There wasn't a lot of time for sleep last night, but it was SO worth it." - Billy Jaye
