Have you driven/walked/biked past this billboard that's on West 4th near Granville Island yet? It's actually covered in real 22 karat gold, pounded down from a mere 2 ounces! It’s an ad for Science World’s latest summer exhibit, Treasure!, which opened May 7 at the TELUS World of Science.
The golden billboard is apparently the first of its kind anywhere in the world and it took four weeks of work by Canada’s top gilder, Brian Dedora, to construct. It's only going to be up for 2 more days so get down there if you want to have a glance, and be sure to say hi to the 24 hour security guard...
