A PRETTY AWESOME EXCURSION

Fellow VIA contributer Trevor Clarke and myself recently had a friend in town from Montreal, so we decided to take him for a little North Shore excursion. Trev lives over on the North Shore and his local knowledge really helped us out.

Trev lives over on the North Shore and his local knowledge really helped us out. People from out of town are usually pretty blown away by Vancouver, and I say this as modestly as possible, but it's a pretty awesome city.

At Ambleside beach, there is a big, wet, spinning globe. If I remember correctly, it was a gift from the Germans.

Seagulls, very nice.

And then a plane flew into a cloud.

The stars seemed to be aligned for our visitor, as this great (and most likely quite rare) hovercraft zipped by.

Iain dipped his foot into the Pacific Ocean, with hopes to get a toe into the Atlantic sometime this year as well.

Trev suggested the Capilano Fish Hatchery as our next destination. It’s free to get in!

And you get to see lots of cool stuff.

Like this river!

Maps help to explain where the salmon are in BC during the months of the year.

Destination number two, we had to work a little bit for.

We saw some snakes.

And some families, on our way.

Made it to the top. They can’t believe what they are seeing.

Cleveland Dam!

It’s pretty amazing up there.

Back down the hill.

Iain also explored what Vancouver skateboarding has to offer.

Go explore some stuff in Vancouver!
