Gastown Jazz n Guu, Jazz @ David Lam Park this weekend

Had a nice little outting with my pops on our annual Jazz Fest summer date. We got tickets to the Chick Corea show at the Centre later that night but first checked out the jazz fest scene at Gastown.

Had a nice little outting with my pops on our annual Jazz Fest summer date. We got tickets to the Chick Corea show at the Centre later that night but first checked out the jazz fest scene at Gastown. We caught the end of the Open Souls set then walked down to see the Nils Landgren Funk Unit, hopped over literally a few steps to Guu Gastown and had the 5 plates below the cut plus 2 ice cold Sapporos for $41! Then walked back to catch the end of "Doran-Stucky-Studer-Tacuma play the music of Jimi Hendrix." Drove then over to the Centre for Chick Corea. Nice little outting indeed, eh, Dad?

Dont forget about the free Jazz Fest gigs at the beautiful David Lam park this Saturday and Sunday. Hey Ocean! plays at 6pm/Sunday followed by Five Alarm Funk at 8pm/Sunday.
