Embracing the festival’s viral nature, Swarm 11 makes innovative use of sites like Twitter and Google Maps to dynamically generate this year’s online festival guide. Venue participants are invited to “tag” their events in their Twitter feeds to identify them as part of the Swarm. This website then pulls these feeds into the list of events and generates venue maps. Similarly, gallery-goers are able to offer comments on the Swarm festival by marking their Twitter posts with a #SWARM11 tag.
Swarm is this Thursday and Friday and there are two afterparties. Vivo and Front Magazine on Thursday, Sep 9, 10pm - 2am host So Warm, the offical Thursday night afterparty for Swarm at Vivo, 1965 Main Street. So Warm is a dance party surrounded and permeated by a one-night installation and performance.
Friday, Sep 10, starting at 8pm, W2 Storyeum host the New Forms Festival Opening and Swarm11 afterparty. Entry is free/by donation at 151 West Cordova.
