THIS WRESTLING LIFE!

As much as I forget on a regular basis, I'm actually white. I've had the luxury of having the best of both worlds. One of the great things about being white, is watching wrestling with your grandparents.
As much as I forget on a regular basis, I'm actually white. I've had the luxury of having the best of both worlds. One of the great things about being white, is watching wrestling with your grandparents. One of my fondest memories I have of my grandmother, is her absolutely losing it while watching All-Star Wrestling on BCTV. The wrestling industry has changed considerably since then, and running a local promotion isn't easy. In Vancouver though, we're lucky to have the ECCW, who have been holding it down for well over ten years, making it one of the best indie wrestling scenes period. This Wrestling Life follows the ECCW's Scotty Mac who not only plays an active roll in running the promotion, but also is the man behind the Slam Academy a wrestling school in Surrey. This is the back drop of the documentary, giving you an inside look at what goes into being a professional wrestler. Director Stephen Gillis veers away from the freak show route in documenting the personal lives of three rookies, and the hard work and sacrifices they undertake in trying to make it in the ECCW.
