IDS West is an exciting annual exhibition featuring the most innovative trends in residential architecture, design, products and services and will be taking over the Vancouver Convention Centre during the weekend of October 14-17. Örling & Wu was co-founded by Fredrik Örling & Julie Wu, who met whilst completing their Masters degrees at Central Saint Martin’s University of the Arts in England. Together, they have always enjoyed hunting out the best in design and have a mutual love for the beautiful, handcrafted creations of the past. Julie’s eye for the authentic and beautifully made, combined with Fredrik’s love of sumptuous iconic creations, makes for an exquisite blend of products exclusive to Örling & Wu.
Fredrik and Julie have scoured the globe to find rare and unseen delights including tableware, glass, frames, books and vintage inspired furniture for their Gastown store.
At Örling & Wu, every product tells a lingering story, one that Julie and Fredrik are aspiring to tell by illuminating the lost traditions of handicrafts, thereby evoking the feel of dusty old shops filled with hidden treasures. The couple has spent a great deal of time hand-selecting the perfect elements to create a new blend of traditional European styling; 'classic with a twist.' Located in Vancouver’s historic Gastown, Örling & Wu can be discovered on Water Street amidst the cobblestones and brick, and east of the Steam Clock.
