Haunted Halloween Trolley Tour

Where & when: Friday October 8 - November 1, 2010 8PM @ Canada Place

Cost:  $35 - 604.801.5515 ext 100 to reserve

Why you should go: An adults only (12+) haunted trolley tour really doesn't need much of an added push to go on it - but for $35 you get two hours of Halloween-y good times riding around on the fun and kitschy trolley buses of Vancouver.

Cool extras:  Trolley tours can be booked for private haunted tours!

Frock Swap 5.0 Guys & Gals

Where & when:  Sunday October 10, 2010 12PM-4PM @ Box Studios, 1622 Franklin Street, Vancouver

Cost: $4 for a Swap Box Pass - more information

Why you should go:  Wondering what the Frock is Frock Swap 5.0 all about?  Well with your Swap Box Pass you get regular swapping admission, max 15 items to swap and complimentary snacks and refreshments.  All unswapped frocks get donated to charity.

Cool extras: While every year Frock Swap organizers have tried to include a bit of guys clothing this is the first year that they are really going all out and putting the call out for guys to join in the swap.  Swapping Frocks ... it's not just for the gals any more!

Interior Design Show West

Where & when: Thursday October 14 - Sunday October 17, 2010 12PM-4PM @ The New Vancouver Convention Centre, 1055 Canada Place, Vancouver

Why you should go: The Interior Design Show West (IDSwest) is Western Canada’s annual premiere residential design show featuring 200 exhibitors showcasing quality products and services to an audience of industry professionals, architects, designers, consumers and media.

Cool extras: The opening night event Inspired By promised to be an amazing time - stylish and hip, drinks and music - the design party of the year.  Featuring art trading with Hot One Inch Action; live performance by several artists that have previously participated in Brief Encounters and a film viewing ofThe 5ifty an original collection of short films on B.C. Artists produced by Knowledge Network. Plus a chance to win a 40” Sony EX400 TV.

The 11th Annual Vancouver International Improv Festival

Where & when: Tuesday October 5 - Sunday October 10, 2010 @ Performance Works on Granville Island, Vancouver

Cost: $40 for a full pass gets you all 20 shows – ticket information

Why you should go: VIIF is a small, locally-run and not-for-profit theatre society that depends on word of mouth to fill our seats, pay our performers and spread knowledge about improvisation as an art form.  Plus, not only are there great shows to attend each night but there are also workshops being held during the days - a double wammy of improv-y awesomeness.
