There are some spectacularly crafty people around town. Some of them might be you. Or your neighbours. Or your favourite bus driver. |
I got messed up by the long weekend and didn't have my crafty post ready this morning when I realized it's, you know, Tuesday. And therefore time to check in with the handmade side of town.
So then I panicked because my brain thinks it's Monday, and it doesn't enjoy thinking on Mondays. So I did what I'm wont to do in moments of panic – I asked the Twitter for help. "What are you making, Vancouver?" is essentially what I asked. I love seeing what people make. If you enjoy it too, maybe I'll make it a semi-regular feature.
After the jump, see what crafty Vancouver's up to. And leave a comment telling us all what you're crafting, too. (Even if you're a dude! I only heard from women [and an organization and a business]!)
- Leslie is making a bunch of these linen fabric buckets + stockings in same style for her holiday craft shows.
- LisaB is stocking up on reflective stuff for an upcoming craft fair & making soap for herself.
- Jennifer's been dyeing lots of fibre.
- Jessica's been making all kinds of stuff.
- BC Easter Seals Camp has been making some awesome buttons in their office!
- KelleBelle is knitting up fingerless gloves for a United Way fundraiser at SFU Surrey on Dec 2 – "Market on the Mezzanine".
- FuzziFauxFur makes faux fur accessories by hand (and a little bit by machine).
- Harriet is making a never-ending baby blanket. (But it won't be never-ending if we encourage her to finish it! Leave Harriet an encouraging comment, wouldya?)
- Meg makes jewelry and apparel.
- Monica's knitting her first shawl. She's taking it slow and is about a third of the way done.
- Monica's also convinced her coworkers to start fibre crafting again. One coworker dug out her knitting supplies and is making this cowl.
- And I'll play, too. I'm knitting a sweater and crocheting a shawl.
