The People’s Program Project – PODCAST #26

SKIP TO THE NEW EPISODE (#26), HERE! [EDITOR'S NOTE: IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY THE F WORD, YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE OFFENDED BY THIS PODCAST] Hi Vancouver is Awesome! Here I present to you Episode 26 of the People’s Program Project.

Here I present to you Episode 26 of the People’s Program Project.

One this episode, we have two stories. The first is a chat I did with my friend Adam Gollner. He’s a Montreal-based writer who I’ve known for many years. He was my editor at a magazine called Strut back in 2003, and then went on to become a serious food writer. He’s published a book called “The Fruit Hunters,” which is a fascinating and extensive history about fruit and Adam’s obsession with it. Though I’d known him for a long time, I only met him in person last year when he came out to do a huge article for Gourmet magazine about Vancouver’s food scene. For that gig, he got to eat at something like eight restaurants a day, so he invited me out for a few delicious meals. Unfortunately, Gourmet folded and the article was never published. Adam currently is working on a book about people who want to live forever. He’s quite a character, a true writer and I think you’ll enjoy our chat. We talk about his time at Vice, back when it was known as the Voice of Montreal, and gain some insight on how things were at the iconic magazine back in the day.

Hi Vancouver is Awesome!

The second story is a short chat with a friend ,who will remain nameless, and why he thinks the UFC is obviously gay. I need to stress that there is some seriously explicit language and imagery so this isn’t recommended for a) sensitive types b) children c) people who are easily offended. I can’t stress that enough. Ok?

Thanks to everyone who contacted me with stories from the last podcast. I really love hearing from you all. Do you have a theory on a sport that might have sexual over-or-undertones? I wanna hear ‘em! Drop me a line at write@eliannalev.com
