A few weeks ago I got a nice little package delivered to my office from a Vancouver-based company called myfaceworks, a new paper "sheet" face mask line. A sucker for trying new products, I gave it a go!

An alternative to the facial mud or gel masks that you can buy at the drug store, paper face masks are a new trend in this neck of the woods. What is a sheet mask, you ask? According to the myfaceworks  website "It's a soft piece of paper-like material cut in the shape of a face, soaked in different types of nutrients and ingredients." What i really liked about these paper masks is they are made out of bio-degradeable material.

Each mask is  labeled with a clever title such as "i need to wake up", "i need to be firm". "i need to relax" etc...  With such a hectic schedule, I thought "i need a quickie" would be appropriate!

Here I am in my office, having a "quickie" - before and after. Not the most attractive look, but I was willing to put myself out there for the sake of the experiment. (note: if you are going to try this in a work environment, do so only if your co-workers have a healthy sense of humour!)

These paper masks are mainly water-based and are awesome for giving some quick moisture to the skin during the winter months when the skin tends to dry and tighten up. After I took the mask off my face, my skin felt incredibly soft and smooth. I made everyone in my office touch my face, just to be sure they knew that looking so ridiculous earlier was all for a good cause!

One of my office mates, Jackie, tried one of the masks as well and reported that "it felt really refreshing on. It was a nice treat for my skin and I really liked that it was easy to do and mess-free."

I'd have to give myfaceworks a 10 out of 10. For your first time I recommend trying The Stater Kit (box of 6 masks for $50) - Available at Beauty Mark, LynnSteven, Kiss & Makeup, Wish List Boutique.
