Now that December is here, the Christmas events are getting into full swing. Starting this Friday and running until January 3rd, the Capilano Suspension Bridge will be hosting Canyon Lights from 5PM–9PM daily. The park will have 250,000 lights, a Christmas band and a glass blower on hand to give demonstrations. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for kids(6-12) and $35 for a family (2 adults, 2 kids).

In my neck of the woods, the Mount Pleasant Business Improvement Area is hosting the O Christmas Tree Light Up Ceremony this Friday. They'll be lighting an 18' Christmas tree, have live music and the big guy himself. The event is from 5PM–6PM and takes place at the Southest corner of Kingsway & Broadway.

Also this Friday, the Carol Ships Parade of Lights Society will be opening the 2010 Carol Ships Parade. For 20 days, the parade will visit various locations throughout the lower mainland and many of these communities will be hosting shoreside events. My kids love seeing boats on the water, they're going to go nuts once they're covered in Christmas lights. Check the schedule and pick your night.

Lastly for this week we have the Rogers Santa Claus Parade taking place this Sunday at 1PM. The Parade start on Georgia at Broughten and heads east before turning south down Howe and ending at Davie.
