With 24,434+ artists, boasting 109,890+ tracks, the CBC Radio 3 web site is the absolute ultimate authority, and the home, of independent music in Canada. With that massive library along with tools for members (free to join!), we’re taking advantage of what they’ve set up by bringing you a fresh batch of music every week featuring local groups who have tracks (entire albums, even!) on the R3 site.

Josh McNorton wears many hats in the Vancouver music community. For example, for the THIRD year in a row he has orchestrated One Night Stand - a New Year's Eve concert featuring local musicians performing as one big cover band. (VIA is excited to co-sponsor it this year!).

Josh (the former lead guitarist of The Painted Birds) also performs instrumental improvised music (check it out here) and when he's not doing that he books the non-film events at the Rio Theatre and produces live-performance experiences as Infinite Yes.
