"Firstly, I love the whole concept of DiYVR. I am always interested and impressed with normal people being crafty in some way. It's inspiring and cool. I love handmade anything and the embrace/return to domestic arts, so anything that celebrates that has my vote. Also, the name of it is freaking inspired genius. I mean - GENIUS. I can't wait to see what happens with that feature.
Secondly, whales-in-the-city make me happy. I posted on seeing a whale HERE, and there are more whale-in-the-city posts HERE and HERE. They are magnificent and rare, and I love that when there is an appearance EVERYONE gets happy and excited, it's like these amazing animals just have such an equalizing effect on everyone... loving them is something we all have in common; united, we feel graced and humbled when they visit. Well, I did, anyway... and if it wasn't for the first two posts on whales I probably wouldn't have brought my camera when I went to the beach that day, and I am insanely grateful that I did because capturing that moment was one of my summer highlights."
