Every day we share a single photo from our Flickr Pool shot by one of our faithful and talented readers (that’s you!).
Yesterday we looked at a photo of the picturesque Capilano Lake, and today Rob Masefield gives us a reason to stay in North Vancouver for one more day with this stunning view from Grouse Mountain. I read this morning that Grouse had a record December, with 9,000 people on December 30th alone!
A little aside: as someone who loves Vancouver as much as I do, I am a little embarrassed to admit that I hadn’t visited Grouse Mountain until 3 winters ago. And when I came down the Cut the first time (as a rookie snowboarder) and saw the view that Grouse Mountain offers, well… let’s just say that it would have made ‘Double Rainbow Guy’ seem composed, reserved and underwhelmed in comparison. At the time, I lived near Knight and 33rd and immediately had to find my house, made easy by its proximity to Kingsway. Hint: Kingsway is the diagonal one!
I was delighted to receive a lift ticket for Grouse from some people close to me for Christmas, and can’t wait to cash that bad boy in – and I’m finally confident enough in my abilities to stay upright on the board that I might even take my camera with me for the first time! Thank you – you know who you are!
And thank you Rob for the photo; Supernatural British Columbia indeed. I see that it is the third installment in Rob’s personal ‘project 365’ – three down, 362 to go. Keep it up Rob. We here at VIA will be celebrating our 365th Daily Flickr Pickr on Thursday!
