THE PASTE UP WEEKLY is an extension of our monthly events listings. We know that there are a lot of awesome events, happenings and goings on in Vancouver and we wanted to feature some of the best and most unique events for the upcoming week. This month’s full event listings can be found here.

St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching… where will you be on this greenest of holidays?  Not yet sure – don’t worry we have you covered.  Here are some of the best, brightest and most interesting goings on for March 17th!

March 16th-20th: CelticFest aims to bring together local community in an annual festival celebration of Celtic culture and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. There are tons of great events going on as part of CelticFest that you don’t want to miss – get the full details here.

March 16th: A Whisky Kiss – 5th Annual Scotch Tasting [Part of CelticFest]. This is a great opportunity for both the seasoned scotch veteran and those wanting to learn more to come together and experience the flavours and rich heritage of scotch and whiskey. $30 in advance – this event sells out fast so get your spot early!

March 17th: The Waldorf – fast becoming many peoples go to location for big events and holidays – is holding an excellent St. Patrick’s Day celebration.  Featuring Irish poetry, songs and drinks as well as performances by B.C. Regiment Irish Pipes and Drums, De Danaan Dancers, O’Conner-O’Brien Dancers and hosted by Joel Hanna.  7pm – late in the Cabaret. $8 at the door.

Or get the full experience at one of Vancouver’s Irish pubs: Ceili’s, Doolins, The Blarney Stone… to name only a few.

March 19th: Brewmaster’s Dinner. Sate your thirst for good food, drink and knowledge!  One of Canada’s leading brewmasters from Molson Canada reveals the art of pairing the perfect ales with each course of your hearty three-course lamb dinner.  Featuring Caffrey’s Irish Ale (beer as cold as lager, as smooth as stout) & Murphy’s Irish Stout (a sterling example of fine Irish Stout). Limited Seating. Reserve your tickets early!

March 19th-20th: Celtic Village [Part of CelticFest]. Located on Granville St. between Georgia and Smithe. There’ll be Celtic music in the air, with free Celtic performances on the Music Stage throughout the festival weekend.
