THE PASTE UP WEEKLY is an extension of our monthly events listings. We know that there are a lot of awesome events, happenings and goings on in Vancouver and we wanted to feature some of the best and most unique events for the upcoming week. This month’s full event listings can be found here.


What: Vancouver Aquarium – Immersion

When: March 25th. 8PM-12AM

Where: Vancouver Aquarium, 845 Avison Way

Cost: $30 for non-members, $24 for members (must me 19+ to attend)

Why: Appetizers and a cash bar. An exclusive evening event for adults to enjoy music, entertainment and cocktails in an inspiring venue.  Interact with our amazing creatures and engage in new experiences at the Aquarium.  Plus: Exclusive behind the scenes tour of the shark penthouse. Tarot card readings by Madame Moach. A personalized souvenir by caricaturist Ted Couling. DJ Emiko spinning tunes all night long. A chance to get hands on with local sea life in the Wet Lab. 4D Experience Theatre shows.


What: Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival

When: March 26th – April 22nd

Where: Around Vancouver – View Cherry Blossom map

Cost: Free

Why: Because it is not just looking at Cherry Blossoms. There are tons of events and activities going on Haiku Invitational, Sakura Days Japan Fair, Cherry Jam Downtown


What: Portobello West Fashion + Art Market

When: March 26th & 27th.  11AM-5PM

Where: After four years at the Rocky Mountaineer Station, Portobello West has moved to the new Creekside Community Recreation Centre in the Olympic Village by False Creek!

Cost:  $2 or $15 for a one year membership. Plus discounts of 10% – 20% at participating market vendors.

Why: Your chance to support local businesses, artists, designers and manufacturers while also finding some of the most unique items that you will fall instantly in love with.


What: MASH Notes 5-à-7: Curator’s Talk & Demo

When: March 28th.  5PM-7PM

Where: Museum of Vancouver, 1100 Chestnut Street

Cost: $12

Why: A special 5-à-7 curator’s talk and reception with architect Michael Green and the creative team from Tangible Interaction at the MOV, celebrating the final installment of “This is Not an Architectural Speaker’s Series”, entitled MASH Notes. Following an unforgettable night of “Architectural Karaoke”, a set of 3 transit-oriented walking tours in “Moving Through”, MASH Notes is a multi-site installation that features an interactive exhibit at MOV, including a light and sound table, that asks Vancouverites to talk about what we love, hate and everything in-between when it comes to architecture and design in our city.
