Anyone else suffering from election fatigue? Do we have the cure for you! Turns out Galiano Island recently held an election for Mayor, and we are very pleased to introduce the incumbent. His name is Humphrey. Humphrey Bogart. Let's have Conny Nordin introduce him:

Breed/Colouring: Breeding? Regal of course. Technically speaking he is a Bengal, Marble

Hood: Galiano Island (formerly of Howe Street and Canoe Pass Village, before we moved to the Island)

Habits: Greeting guests, entertaining visitors, crashing weddings, filling in the quiet moments

Hangouts: He is the resident Inn Cat at the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa

Other info: Galiano Island recently had an election for Mayor. The winner? Well, islands can be a little, um, "quirky". Our first mayor (drum roll) is Humphrey Bogart, the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa's resident Inn Cat. Yes, you read that right, we elected a Cat. Not just any cat, we will of course point out: Bogart is indeed special, as any of the Inn's guests and Islanders will attest.

He has made the most recent cover of the local Newspaper, the Active Page, looking very regal (proof below). The election, by the way, raised $2600 for the local RestQ animal shelter through the Active Page's promotion. (By the way, the term "Geekiano" is a reference to our island being a hub for many internet businesses; Bogart himself is fond of computers, or is it just the mouse?).

The race was a tough one, Bogart is now cat napping before coming up with policy for Galiano Island. Ideas anyone?

Name: Humphrey Bogart
