I've had one of those Saturdays where I've barely left the house all day. Aside from the annual trip down to the always exciting Aircare facility early this morning, I've been a homebody. But through the magic of social media I've been kept up to date with the cornucopia of precipitation around Vancouver today. On Facebook I read of a friend pleading with the hail to stop so she can simply walk to the store; on Twitter a contact mentions how said hail is cutting down her garden. Other people were anticipating a double-rainbow that would foreshadow a Canucks victory tonight, thus ending their second-round series versus Nashville.

And that information is all well and good, but I am a visual person and that's where Flickr comes in. Maurice Li submitted a photograph to the pool from this afternoon that really illustrates to me how the weather looked out there. In his caption, Maurice describes "the most violent rain/hailstorm in recent memory" and relates how he was stranded under an awning for 45 minutes, pondering a future umbrella purchase, as he was Caught Outside.
