Consider this the calm before the storm. In about 60 minutes time since writing this, the puck will be dropped at Rogers Arena for Game 1 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final between the Boston Bruins and your Vancouver Canucks. I've been following the team since the Cup Run of 1994, so I'm really geeked for this. Needless to say, it might get a little hockey around here. Or a lot hockey.
So, I thought it might be a nice gesture to share a non-hockey post with you all, before we pass the point of no return. And what a better image to share with you than the photograph below from Rachael Ashe. It seems that Rachael has recently begun a self-portrait project to jump-start her inspiration, and this project led her to the park yesterday to perform, as she says, "twirling in my most twirliest skirt". The resulting image becomes almost documentation of a gesture, and a fairly pure and innocent gesture at that. Here is Day 2: A moment in the sun.
