A Loving Spoonful | Project Empty Bowl 2011

It was that time of year again for A Loving Spoonful's annual Project Empty Bowl signature fundraiser and auction event.

The organization is in support for those living with HIV/AIDS. It's of particular significance within the local, vibrant gay community. And there were tons of young, gay professionals out last night to raise awareness. My female friends remarked at the abundance of good-looking homosexual men in attendance and there were many.

The night proved to be a lot of fun with folks The Beat DJ Jonny Staub (middle) with his beau and media helper Sophia Cheng (right).

I was impressed (and admittedly a little amused) by the many interesting and well-dressed folks in attendance.

The drinks were flowing as I enjoyed a lemon drop signature martini cocktail.

The organizers including A Loving Spoonful Executive Director Lisa Martella (right) clearly made a special effort to make sure the night was another success and continue the legacy of Project Empty Bowl. Speaking of which, there were actual bowls for everyone to eat our of and take home.

The food was top notch with tons or appetizers, bits, and bites to eat. It was a diverse mix of finger foods, snacks, and side dishes.

Global BC's Deborra Hope (right) was the night's host and emcee overseeing the festivities.

The art and silent auction was impressive with some clever, offbeat art. There were live art being demonstrated and put together with the casual dining, and ample drinks, it was a busy night of professionals coming together in support of those living with HIV/AIDS.
