Remember when we announced a while back that VIA and Media Democracy Day were teaming up once again to bring you a fantastic evening of local music and fun? Well we thought we’d introduce you to the lovely bands that’ll be serenading your ear holes on October 20th at Amplify! A Fundraiser for Media Democracy Days 2011. Today’s guest: THE RUFFLED FEATHERS

Imagine a time when there are no more people, just songs echoing from an old fashioned radio in the decaying streets. Raised banners and crumbling columns disappear in the drifting smoke. Amongst the rubble, triumphant trumpets and melancholy mandolins ring out over the waving flags of the unforeseen future. This is the music of The Ruffled Feathers. The Province says, “With elements of Regina Spektor and Feist, locals The Ruffled Feathers are a band to watch.”

Check out their fantastic video for their track, “Blueprints for our Failed Revolution”

Come see The Ruffled Feathers along with Sidney York and The Belle Game October 20th, 2011 at The Railway Club. Tickets are $10 at the door, and all proceeds go to support Media Democracy Day 2011. Confirm that you’re coming today!
