I know that the reason you go to the Vancouver Farmers Markets is because you love buying locally grown food direct from the people producing it, but if you needed a little more incentive, or perhaps something to take home with you to put on your wall, then you're in luck. Jane Koo has produced yet another great poster for the Winter Farmers Markets at Nat Bailey and they're giving them away for FREE each weekend. Here's the design:

I asked Jane about it and she told me that "The concept for the poster is pretty simple — I really enjoy the summer market poster as it reflects bright and cheery essence of the summer market, so I wanted to create a wintry version for the Winter Farmers Market [the posters together read "We are local rain or shine"! Click HERE to see them together]. Also the winter market is full of interesting stuff that you can't find in the summer market, such as maple taffy made to order (my favourite), warm apple cider, lovely wreaths made by local wreath makers and... lots of pickled/preserved goodness! You see people all bundled up and sipping hot chocolate as they stroll around the market, it's just really cozy so I wanted to illustrate it."

Pick up your free poster while you're buying groceries this Saturday from 10AM-2PM at the Winter Farmers Market at Nat Bailey. Learn more about the Markets at EatLocal.org
