This weekend, Portobello West is happening all weekend long for the "Very Blingy Christmas" extended market. Bling it on! Holiday bling is the thing at November’s two day Portobello West market. Among 50 local artists in fashion, art, and design, 20 of Vancouver's top jewellery designers will be selling their wares so it shouldn't be hard to find the right sparkle for the right person on your Christmas list. The market runs November 26 and November 27 from 11am - 5pm at the Creekside Community Centre in the Athlete’s Village.

Winner of the Georgia Straight's "Best craft/artisan Market" for two years in a row, Portobello West is a monthly event in Olympic Village where juried local vendors display and sell art and design on the last Sunday of every month. In 2011, Portobello West became a non-profit organization in order to provide artists with the support and resources necessary to take significant steps within their own independent practice.

Here's a look at one of the vendors:  OhKuol Jewellery:
OhKuol Jewelry was founded by two sisters, Vi and Priscilla. These two sisters share a 13 year age gap and a passion for jewelry, fashion, and a keen eye for art. Being self-taught jewelry designers, Vi and Priscilla have also both gradually developed a similar aesthetic in design. The entire designing and creating process takes place in their little home studio.  Priscilla and Vi take delight in revealing the exquisite innate qualities of natural precious stones (think rough druzies, shimmering sunstones, and glowing aqua chalcedony). OhKuol’s creations are most sought after by those with a keen appreciation for delicate jewelry with fine details and a handmade touch.

The $2 entry fee includes a free raffle ticket. One ticket will be drawn every two hours with six pieces of jewellery up for grabs! For more info:www.portobellowest.com
