TO DIE FOR FOOD OF THE WEEK - VOLUME 8

Every week I compile a collection of the most mouthwatering food photos that I shot in Vancouver restaurants and in my kitchen. The hashtag #todiefor denotes an item truly knee weakening in flavour.

Coconut Quinoa and Spinach Salad - one of the most exquisite I've tried, with toasted pistachios, crispy shallots and and overload of fresh thyme and lemon. Recipe

Breakfast Buffet at Four Seasons Whistler's Fifty Two 80 - a healthy person's dream day-starter, including a variety of smoothies (spinach, avocado and ginger is pictured), fresh juices, fruit, and oatmeal with nearly every berry and topping imaginable.

Sunday Brunch featuring 'Lightly Scrambled Eggs with Thyme and Button Mushrooms' (a recipe inspired by a dish at Harvest Vine in Seattle). Kick special occasion meals up a notch by splurging on special artisan breads, gourmet sausages, fine coffee and maybe even some homemade Baileys.

Lucknow Lamb Kebabs by Vij's Railway Express - undoubtedly one of the best food carts in town. All food is prepped in house, including the chapati, marinades and lassis (which come in just about the coolest drink containers you've ever seen). Don't let the line-up intimidate you - these guys are on the ball and get food out fast.

Big Lou's Butcher Shop - the spot in Gastown/Railtown for great quality local meats and killer sandwiches. Try their Banh Mi, made with fall-apart-tender pork shoulder.
