Here are the deets on Sam as submitted by VIA reader Lee Walker :

Breed/Colouring: Orange Tabby

Hood: East Van

Habits: Sleeping on his back, snoring, rolling off the couch, chasing after you because he thinks you have treats, playing with his catnip frog, jumping the two meter gap from the window sill to the bed and charming everyone he meets!

Hangouts: The sunny area on the balcony, the warm spot you just left on the couch, the thick carpet in the bathroom, the big orange chair, your lap, your stomach, your leg, your crotch, but never your head.

Other info:Sam's inexperience with the people world provides hours of entertainment. He was in a shelter for 6 years so the TV and radio fascinates him. The juicer and hair dryer make him jump up and down and furiously swat the air out of confusion. Sam is also a big klutz. When digging for toys under the carpet he'll hit his head on the floor and he takes running slides into walls while chasing his favorite toy; cardboard on a wire. He also has F.I.V. (Feline AIDS) so we have to keep him indoors. But that doesn't mean he can't life a long, happy and healthy life. We adopted him from the SPCA's sister shelter - The Richmond Animal Protection Society. They have over 800 cats and are in desperate need of adopters.

If you’re interested in adopting a pet, check out our Happy Tails feature or our monthly Van City Kitty Take Us Home editions (most recently here or here.)If you adopted your pet from the SPCA and would like to share your awesome story on Happy Tails, send an email to Rory.Blanchard@novusnow.ca.
