TO DIE FOR FOOD OF THE WEEK - VOLUME 13

Every week I compile a collection of the most mouthwatering food photos that I shot in Vancouver restaurants and in my kitchen. The hashtag #todiefor denotes an item truly knee weakening in flavour.

Milk Chocolate Valrhona Rice Pudding by Beaucoup Bakery - If you're a ride pudding fan like I am, you must try pastry chef Jackie's when she opens the doors of her French-inspired bakery cafe at Fir & 6th. With blueberry compote and crunchy streusel, this layered creation is #TODIEFOR.

Tuna Ta-Taco by Tacofino - Sesame soy Albacore tuna, wasabi ginger mayo and mango salsa - no wonder this popular food cart's line-ups are so long. Their product is fresh. The Fish Taco, made with tempura battered ling cod and chipotle mayo, was a richer option that I highly recommend, too.

Strawberry Gazpacho with Fresh Tarragon - perhaps the best summer dinner party appetizer? This chilled soup is sweet and savoury with a hint of balsamic. Prepare it up to a day in advance of serving. Recipe here.

Puffed Rice & Chick Pea Salad by Vij's Railway - there isn't a dish on this street truck's menu that you shouldn't try, including this one. Expect a generous portion of curried, creamy chick peas and crunchy puffed rice for texture.

Tuna Tataki by Suika - if you're a connoisseur of the lightly-seared-drenched-in-ponzu tuna dish, you must try this Broadway Street izakaya's. Their ponzu jelly is concentrated with the super tangy, addictive flavour that will make you want to lick your plate.
