If you have ever dreamed of being trapped inside a giant bubble with a bunch of people in matching t-shirts, you had your chance to live that dream yesterday at Science World! Bubble artist Fan Yang only 24 hours ago broke the world record for the most people encapsulated in a soap bubble.  Huddled on little carpet islands surrounded by soapy moats, a group of adults and children of at least 5 ft. tall huddled together and was advised to resist sneezes, coughs, and the overwhelming urge to touch the bubble.

A construction of metal and wood attached to pulleys was lifted, with the bubble being created by a a perimeter of rope that had been soaking in the mixture.  After a couple of tries with the precarious film being lifted only to vanish into a rain of soap (good thing the volunteers were all given t-shirts) the record was officially verified at 181 people.  This was Fan's 18th world record, which beats previous record of 125 people.

Fan Yang brought his whole talented family along who gave us all a preview of the Gazillion Bubble show which will be in Vancouver November 2nd-4th at the Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts. (He also wore the most fantastic glittery loafers for the performance.  Not pictured, sorry.)
