This Saturday September 29th, 2012 is Sports Day in Canada, which I have to admit snuck up on me this year. There are a ton of events going on all over the lower mainland, and many of them are completely free. Opportunities exist to play ball hockey, or to try something a little more exotic like greco roman wrestling. The CBC has created a website which you can use to search for events in your area and which can be found here.
If I may make a suggestion, go out and try something you've never tried before with people you've never met before. It's a great way to expand your personal horizons and to interact with other good folks in your community.
Not sure what I'll be doing yet, but 8 year old me is playing hockey, like 8 year old me always does.
