TO DIE FOR FOOD OF THE WEEK - VOLUME 23

Every week I compile a collection of the most mouthwatering food photos that I shot in & around Vancouver - this week, Whistler! The hashtag #todiefor denotes an item truly knee weakening in flavour.

Chestnut Crepes with Caramelized Rhubarb & Strawberry Mascarpone Mousse at Secret Location -  Pastry Chef Kira Desmond is a dessert artist! This brunch dish 'wows' the palate as much as it does the eyes.

Hereford Short Rib Sandwich at Secret Location - with a cheddar omelette, garlic scape buttermilk biscuit and pickled shimeji mushrooms. Each element of this dish truly hit the mark. Ten out of ten.

Open-Faced Cured Eggplant Sandwich at East of Main Cafe - a charming new-ish spot on East Georgia in Chinatown that you must check out. The food is fresh, well-presented and full of flavour.

Chips & Candy - a fun little project for your creative side, made with plain Kettle Chips, melted chocolate (for dipping) and all the colourful toppings you can find (my fav pairing was the dark chocolate, chip crumb, blue cheese combo, or the dark chocolate, red licorice, Parmigiano Reggiano combo).

Maple Doughnut at Honey Doughnuts - well-known as the best of its kind on the North Shore. It's surroundings aren't bad either. Grab a treat for your walk to the water's edge, where life's problems seem to melt away.
