Remember THIS series of posts I did about our visit to April Point Resort on Quadra Island a little while back? Directly across the water from April Point is Painter's Lodge, another fine resort owned by Oak Bay Marine Group. It's Oak Bay's 50th anniversary this year, and this current adventure I'm bringing you on has some serious heritage involved, especially once we get to the fishing part.

The first post in this series was about GETTING THERE, the second was about the ACCOMMODATIONS and today we're hopping on a free shuttle across the water.

Welcome to the latest series of Super, Neighbours blog posts where we highlight incredible travel destinations in British Columbia!

As I said in my PREVIOUS POST, OBMG's properties are all about waterfront and fishing. Connecting April Point and Painter's Lodge is a stretch of the ocean known as Discovery Pass and all day every day they've got a free shuttle that runs across it bringing guests back and forth.

You can use the amenities at either resort when you're checked into one of them, so we hopped on board the shuttle for a quick trip down memory lane, and to show our son what he missed when we went to April Point without him previously.

April Point has some pristine waterfront with much ocean life to explore, and lots of rocks to throw.

The coast guard was patrolling the waters doing some sort of research while we combed the beach. You can see Painter's Lodge in the background of this photo.

Lots of places to hang around.

And a giant chess board to learn on!

We introduced Arlo to the infamous Mint Man who greets guests to the dining lounge.

Then we sat down for a light lunch.

One of the beauties of the lodges being connected is that when you take the shuttle to either of them you can charge it back to your room and worry about paying when you check out!

Stay tuned for Part 4 when I show you the wonderful food that we ate over at Painter's.
