SCENE AND HEARD showcases the independent music scene here in Vancouver.

sceneandheard SCENE AND HEARD showcases the independent music scene here in Vancouver. With over 28,000+ artists, boasting more than 140,000+ tracks, the CBC Music/CBC Radio 3 web site is the absolute ultimate authority, and the home, of independent music in Canada. With that massive library along with tools for members (free to join!), we’re taking advantage of what they’ve set up by bringing you a fresh batch of music every week featuring local groups who have tracks (entire albums, even!) on the R3 site.

This week we're looking forward to what will be an exciting night and a celebration of BC Music and Music Education! There will be a variety-style show featuring: Chilliwack, Jim Byrnes, David Gogo, Shaun Verreault (of Wide Mouth Mason), Murray Porter, Steph Macpherson, Steve Dawson, Terri-Lynn Williams Davidson, Portage and Main, Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, Cityreal with Wes Mackey, and Tonye Aganaba & The Foundation!

The event is taking place on Dec 7th at The Vogue Theatre, with Master of Ceremonies Tamara Stanners of the PEAK 102.7 FM.

Proceeds of this event will support Music BC Charitable Foundation's programs including Adopt an Instrument, which donates new instruments to public school and community music programs, Songwriters of a New Generation which facilitates musical mentors for at-risk youth, and the Burt Harris Memorial Scholarship, which provides private tuition and post-secondary scholarships. - YOU CAN GET TICKETS BY CLICKING HERE.

Music BC's Rebecca Apostoli from Music BC put together a playlist featuring some of the amazing talent that will be showcased on Friday. Click below to listen and we'll see you at The Vogue on the 7th!
