The sweetest vendor has joined the Winter Farmers Market at Nat Bailey: The Bees Knees Christmas Trees! What makes them extra sweet is a combination of a few things including...

1. They're family owned and operated.

2. They're the first Christmas tree farm in Canada to be certified organic as well as being certified Salmon Safe. Picture the amount of times an average Christmas tree has to be sprayed with pesticides over its 10 year span of being grown before it comes to your house. It's at least 10 times more than any other crop, and those pesticides and chemicals get back into the groundwater and make their way to the ocean where they get into the fish that we eat. THEN once you bring the tree into your house you're bringing those that remain into your home.

The Bees Knees doesn't spray with anything. Everybody wins, even the fish.

3. Like other organic crops, they have a higher mortality rate, meaning that some of their trees don't make it ten years to the point where we're bringing them into our homes. Instead of seeing these dead trees as useless they turn them into decorations, yule log displays and more, which they sell!

Learn more at TheBeesKneesChristmasTrees.com and be sure to visit them at the WInter Farmers Market at Nat Bailey this Saturday between 10AM and 2PM.
