Wedding season is fast approaching and stressed out brides can rejoice as more options for making weddings affordable and sustainable are popping up around Vancouver.  The Original Bridal Swap will be held at the Roundhouse Community Centre on April 7, an event where "her something old can be your something new".

All of us know people that can manage to find everything thinkable for next to nothing through websites like Cragislist or Kijiji, but some of us either don't have the time or the skill for navigating through the good and bad. The Original Bridal Swap makes it easier, giving past brides a chance to sell items from their wedding and recoup some money and new brides can pick up goods for great deals. All the while promoting re-using and recycling, how very green and very Vancouver!

Past brides signed up so far are selling items like glassware from centerpieces, tablecloths, candle holders and even dresses. There will also be bridal shops selling their sample dresses, lots of wedding dresses on consignment, artisans selling eco-friendly and locally sourced wedding merchandise, and local décor companies clearing out excess stock that would otherwise go to waste.  Dress prices range from $300-800, instead of the average $2000.00 for a new dress.

Anyone looking to sell, you can register for a table online. Tickets to attend the event can be purchased onsite, but online tickets come with early-bird access scope out the good stuff!
