Last night my friend, Sam Sullivan, won the race to run as the BC Liberal candidate in False Creek riding in the upcoming provincial election on May 14th! Aside from being a former Vancouver mayor whom you likely remember for his eco-density initiative when he was in office (he's the pro-density guy), he puts on the PUBLIC SALON speaker series that we co-sponsor, and you'll see his name next to mine as one of the members of the Stop the Violence BC Coalition. Short of an outright political endorsement, I think Sam is awesome.

Sam announcing his bid for the leadership back in November

When I INTRODUCED you to BC NDP leader Adrian Dix a couple of weeks ago and told you I'd be voting for him as the next leader of our province I wasn't messing around. But the future of the False Creek riding, where I live In The Village, will be in good hands regardless of where my vote is cast there; Sam will be going head to head with NDP candidate Matt Toner, and I think perhaps over the coming weeks we'll invite someone like Yuri Artibise (my neighbour and friend who I'm pretty sure ENDORSES Sam) to weigh in on why he's voting for him, along with someone who's voting for Matt weighing in. It's sure to be a tight race!
