Shane Koyczan's "To This Day" Project

If you aren't one of the 2.5 MILLON people (as of Feb 22) who have already watched this (I'm on my 3rd go in the last few days)...you probably should. I'm sure you all know Shane Koyczan 's work...

If you aren't one of the 2.5 MILLON people (as of Feb 22) who have already watched this (I'm on my 3rd go in the last few days)...you probably should.

I'm sure you all know Shane Koyczan's work...he performed at the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics, at many-a Folk Festival, all around town including with The Short Story Long, and with Dan Mangan several times. I can't tell you enough about how awesome he is (and how much I'm obsessed with his album "Shut Up And Say Something")...but then there's this to say it for me:

Shane created the "To This Day" project, based off the name of his poem about bullying and set it to animations from people all over the world, which was produced by the awesome folks at Giant Ant Media.

Of it Shane says:

"My experiences with violence in schools still echo throughout my life but standing to face the problem has helped me in immeasurable ways.

I wrote “To This Day”, a spoken word poem, to further explore the profound and lasting impact that bullying can have on an individual.

Schools and families are in desperate need of proper tools to confront this problem. We can give them a starting point… A message that will have a far reaching and long lasting effect in confronting bullying."

I encourage you to watch the video, and share it. Sign up for Shane's email list (you get a poem emailed every month) and add your name to the mailing list for To This Day project updates!
