Give A Better Life Foundation was founded in 2012 by Mark Brand in response to a growing concern regarding food security in the downtown eastside of Vancouver. The overarching goal of the foundation is to raise funds to provide nutritious meals to those in assisted living and single room occupancy hotels. The objectives of the Foundation are two-fold. Firstly, to relieve poverty by providing nutritious meals to those in need and secondly, to relieve poverty by providing job skills, training opportunities and job placement assistance for people with employment barriers.
