Here are the deets on Chops, submitted by VIA reader : Katy H!

...

Breed/Colouring: American Bobtail / Tabby

...

Hood: Downtown

...

Habits: Being a creepy creeper, waking his people up by kneading his paws into them, walking over the heads of sleeping family members, "meh-ing" outside the bathroom until you let him in (he doesn't meow he "mehs") and scampering like a bunny.

Hangouts: Baskets, boxes, the closet, the bookshelf, inside drawers, and inside the hamper.

Name: Chops (AKA Doctor Chops, Chopsy, Basket-cat, Bunny Butt, Little Weirdo)

Favorite Things: Hanging out in the bathroom while you get ready in the morning/before bed to get his butt scratched or patted. He also likes wrestling with his buddy Catbot and hiding on him by sitting inside small spaces.

Other Info: Chops began his life as an unwanted gift, and the original recipient of Chops kept him locked in a kennel all night, every night. He was depressed and shy at first, but lucky for him he was adopted by Katy, who showed him unconditional love and attention. Soon, Chops came out of his shell, and his "weird little personality" now shines through! Now he gets nothing but the best, Katy tells us " he had been originally fed crappy generic kibble but luckily we got him young enough and with effort and patience we were able to safely transition him to raw food which he now loves. His coat went from being very bristly and dry to soft and fluffy like a teddy bears."

Chops and Catbot up to no good:

Chops is the brother of Catbot, featured last month!

Please let Chops' story be a reminder to not give animals as gifts. Pets are a huge commitment, and they need people who really want to look after them for their whole lives. Not all gifted cats are lucky enough to be adopted by nice people like Katy!
