On Saturday, October 19th, 30 different "hobby chefs" will open their homes to host simultaneous dinner parties during Social Bites Global Local, Vancouver: DinnerPartyYVR. Their guests will be gifted 100% of the ticket price which they can donate to charity via Chimp. A veteran of the wine scene here in Vancouver, and abroad, Luisa Deziel's Social Bites Dinner will be a laid back, casual evening, that comes with the added treat of homemade Sangria, "to get the fiesta started."
You're a hobby chef for #DinnerPartyYVR. What would you like your guests to know about you?
I love hosting dinner parties for the conversation at the table. Simple ingredients, simple home-cooking, good wine, interesting dialogue, laughter — that's where it's at!
When you're not hobby cheffing, how do you keep yourself busy?
Working to inform, promote and inspire about wine. Dancing. Raising a family.
You're making tacos! What's the inspiration for this meal?
Whenever I make tacos my friends and family gobble them up. It's a social, create your own type of dinner that seems to put people at ease.
What can people expect to find when they come to your house?
Two cats, one dog, possibly a couple of teenagers wandering around, music, sangria and laughter.
You chose VOKRA — Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association— as your charity. Why VOKRA?
If I could adopt every kitty on the planet I would. I can't though so this way at least I can help them out a bit.
